BasiGo Unveils New Electric Vehicles to Serve in Different Regions of Rwanda.

BasiGo, a public transport company using electric buses, has launched two new buses, one of them will go to the different regions of Rwanda, the other will serving in Kigali.

This happens when The government of Rwanda has a plan to reduce the number of cars that pollute the air, using environmentally friendly means so that 20% of the cars in Kigali will be electrical by 2030.

Doreen Orichaba, the Director of BasiGo in Rwanda, shows that there is no concern about the electric buses going to the Province because they have done enough inspections and it has shown that these vehicles have the ability to go there and come back without any problems.

In checking we went to different parts of the country including; Musanze, Nyanza and elsewhere, so the special thing is that, one car is going to start serving in the County, from Nyanza ya Kicukiro as origin up to Bugesera. “She Said”

These buses can facilitate the people with disabilities as it has confirmed by Mr. Aimable Irihose, the executive director of the Rwandan Association of Disabled People and Wheelchair Users (NUDOR).

People with disabilities usually don’t like to travel, because it’s expensive for them. Because it requires them to take their own car/private or pay for many seats in public transport, only now that we have seen these cars we are happy. And now we are going to travel the country as we want. “He Said”

In the next 12 months from this October, BasiGo will have delivered about 100 and more vehicles, and after that another 200 will be delivered in order to replace the old ones.

Rwanda has become the second country where BasiGo has introduced its public transport service after Kenya.
