The supreme commander in Chief of RDF says that liberation begins when the sound of gunfire is completely silenced or reduced and the Peace Stadium, where the 30th Independence Day celebrations were held.
On Thursday, July 4, 2024, the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Rwandan Armed Forces, Paul Kagame says that the image of this operation has been updated in a way that is suitable for the eye and clearly shows how the country is rebuilding.
It was after the military coup that consisted of 12 days led by Brig.Gen Mutembe Frank, in his public address in few words, President Paul Kagame thanked the RPA/Inkotanyi forces for liberating Rwanda and especially those who lost their lives.
He said, “The struggle for independence is not an accident that happened to us, because it was important, since it was not easy, but the RPA forces worked professionally and humanely in saving people, but all this was based on the tradition we had and we believed that it is a strong pillar that we have to accept in Rwanda .”
President Kagame continues to say that until today, Rwanda knows the value of peace and where it is needed for reasonable reasons, he does not give it and he asks all those who want to cooperate with Rwandans to come but interfere in what is not allowed.
He said, “We learned a great lesson that we should stand up and solve problems because if it didn’t happen, we would always be under the United Nations, that’s why we will continue to strive for peace in Rwanda no matter what happens, no matter what the cost.”
He emphasizes that the RPF/Inkotanyi has always wanted to build a country where every Rwandan can find himself, and he takes the opportunity to ask the youth, especially those born after 1994 and a little before, to improve the achievements.
He gave a great deal of time and value to this topic, saying: “Young people, you must prepare to serve your country to make it better, but it is important to be a fighter.”
On the theme of “Rwanda’s Journey continues” in Kinyarwanda, it means that Rwanda is determined to continue, President Kagame says that when the noise of gunfire stops or decreases, then the liberation journey begins.
President Kagame said, “We are finishing the first 100 days of commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsis in 1994, we are also commemorating 30 years since our liberation, but now Rwanda is in a state that has never been seen before, I remember clearly that here {Amahoro Stadium} was a shelter for refugees “The Tutsis were running to the outskirts of the city to save their lives.”
