Private Sector Federation Sets Handover Ceremony for New Leadership
The Private Sector Federation Rwanda has concluded its latest leadership election, signaling a renewed direction for the country’s business community and reinforcing the federation’s role in driving economic growth.

Members of the Private Sector Federation elected new leadership to guide the organization, with a newly appointed chairperson emerging victorious after a competitive process. The elected leader succeeds the outgoing administration and is expected to represent the interests of Rwanda’s private sector at both national and international levels.
The election was conducted to appoint new leaders within the federation, an umbrella organization representing businesses across various industries in Rwanda. The process aimed at strengthening institutional governance and ensuring that the federation continues to advocate effectively for private sector development.
The election took place earlier this month, culminating in the announcement of results that have now set the stage for a transition in leadership.

The leadership transition is part of the federation’s governance structure, designed to promote accountability, inclusiveness, and strategic direction. The newly elected team is expected to address key priorities such as business environment reforms, access to finance, and increased private sector participation in national development.
The election process involved nominations, campaigning within the federation’s membership, and voting conducted in accordance with established guidelines. Observers within the organization described the process as transparent and orderly, reflecting growing institutional maturity.
The Private Sector Federation Rwanda has played a critical role in Rwanda’s economic transformation, acting as a bridge between government and business stakeholders. Its leadership elections are therefore closely watched as indicators of the private sector’s future direction.
As the transition period begins, preparations are underway for the official handover of responsibilities. The swearing-in and handover ceremony for the newly elected leadership is ongoing today 17th March, marking the formal start of their mandate.
The event is expected to bring together key stakeholders from government, industry, and development partners, underscoring the importance of collaboration in advancing Rwanda’s economic agenda.
